I’m a Canadian software engineer working on cloud infrastructure.
When I’m not doing that, I write about computers, software ownership, Linux, terminals, distributed systems, privacy, free software, and why the internet got so weird.
I think computers should belong to the people using them.
That idea shows up in most of what I write. Sometimes directly. Sometimes through essays about local-first software, RSS, personal websites, terminals, or why perfectly good tools keep getting replaced by worse ones with accounts attached.
This site is my place for writing, notes, projects, links, and small experiments.
